Kyoritsu Phase Indicators

A phase indicator (phase sequence tester) shows whether a three-phase supply is connected in the correct order, L1-L2-L3, and whether any phase is missing.

Checking sequence before connecting a motor, pump, compressor or generator prevents reverse rotation, which can damage equipment and processes.

When to use a phase indicator

Before connecting three-phase motors. Swapping any two phases reverses a motor. Checking sequence at the supply first means the motor turns the right way at first start.

After supply changes. Utility work, new cables or generator changeover can alter phase order. A quick check avoids surprises.

Open-phase detection. A missing phase makes three-phase motors overheat or fail to start. Phase indicators that check open phase show this immediately.

Choosing a tester. Check the voltage range covers your supplies (for example 415 V between phases in India) and that the safety rating suits where you connect.

Questions about phase indicators

What voltage range do I need?

Indian three-phase supplies are normally 415 V between phases. The KEW 8031 covers 110–600 V AC.

Does a phase indicator measure voltage?

No. It indicates sequence and open phase. Use a multimeter or clamp meter to measure voltage values.
